A Stitch in Time Saves Nine - Prevention Not Cure
And the truth is strikingly simple - prevention rather than treatment. It goes for most things in life that it is easier to prevent damage than later to deal with its consequences. But with health one might not have a second chance. Besides genetic burdens, which also can be at least partially neutralized by appropriate care, our health reflects our way of life ~ the things we eat and drink, the things we do (or do not do), the environment we are in. Diet, exercise, and behavior in general are key factors for staying healthy. The right diet and exercise prove effective even with chronic diseases. Living closer to nature, eating and drinking non-polluted foods and beverages, regularly exercising (just for fun, not for taking part in the next Olympics), and avoiding stressful situations are recipes for good health and longevity. People who do not suffer with health disorders often underestimate the role of healthy food. We eat so many poisons that it is not surprising that over 50 percent of people suffer from digestion related diseases. Junk and convenience food might save time; sugary, starchy, and fatty foods might be delicious, but their "positive" aspects vanish when compared to health damages. |
