Hi

Well, May is here, and, hopefully we're going to start getting some better weather!
I'm very excited this month, I'm doing two shows, one on May 21st in Fort Langley in conjunction with the Mayday Celebration, and one at Kwantlen College, 72nd. St. in Surrey on Friday, May 25, and Saturday, May 26th. I hope to see some of you there to check it out!
Aaaannndd....I'm gearing up for the Grouse Grind Bootcamp!

Grouse Grind Bootcamp

ImageI'm very excited to offer a Bootcamp this year, to train for the Grouse Grind! It will be a six week course, training three times a week....Tuesday and Thursday evening, and Saturday morning.
We start training on Tuesday, June 5, and end Saturday, July 14 with the Grind!
If you've ever thought about doing this challenging hike, now's the time to do it.
We'll have lots of fun, and after the climb, we can admire the views, and perhaps stop for lunch before heading back down on the Gondola.
Later that afternoon, I'll have a wind up BBQ at my home for all the participants, and their families.
Come and take the challenge!

Creating Great Looking Arms

ImageLast month I showed you how to firm the the back of your arms...this month I'm going to tell you how to create nice shoulders...you know, that nice look where the top of your shoulder goes into your upper arm?
So...standing with your feet shoulder width apart, holding a light weight in each hand, with your arms straight down in front of your torso, lift your arms up, bringing your hands almost to your chin, and lifting your elbows level with your shoulder, then slowly return to the start position.
Remember to breathe out as you lift, and breathe in as you return to the start position, and keep your tummy tight, and knees slightly bent.
Add this exercise to the triceps exercise from last month, and do one - three sets of each with 8-12 repetitions

Relay for Life

On May 25 and 26, 2007, my friend Janet Slater along with her fellow employees at Trimac Transportation called "Team Trimac", are participating in the Canadian Cancer Society's annual Relay for Life, for which they are raising funds. The team was inspired two years ago by a co-worker, and friend, Randy, who was courageously battling cancer. This resulted in "Team Trimac" being the top fundraising team in both 2005 and 2006. The team raised over $12,000 in 2005 and over $19,000 in 2006 in pledges and donations. Sadly, Randy lost his battle to cancer, but his spirit and determination live on in "Team Trimac's" goal to surpass the prior year's contributions.

"Team Trimac" is requesting support to assist in their fundraising efforts for the Canadian Cancer Society. You can make a contribution by going to the internet at Canadian Cancer Society and click on Relay for Life in Langley, and pledge "Team Trimac" or Janet Slater, Team Captain.

Cancer touches so many people in our community and Relay for Life is a great way to help fight this terrible disease.

"Team Trimac" would like to thank you for your generosity in helping fight the battle against cancer.

Good luck to all those who are in the Relay for Life, and thank you all for taking the time to raise the funds for such a worthy cause.

Come and see me in my booth at the Mayday Celebration in Fort Langley on May 21st., and at Kwantlen College on May 25th., & 26th.....see you there!

Join me for the Grouse Grind Bootcamp, it's great way to get fit for the summer.
