Hi

Spring is here on the west coast! It's a time of year that I love.....the days are getting longer, the weather is starting to warm, and everything is coming to life! It's a time of renewal ...plants growing & blooming, animals having baby's....
And, of course it's time to cut the grass! We here on the coast can always have a little smirk for the poor souls who live in the east and are still fighting winter.
It's also time for my friends & I to get back to our weekend walks on the Houston Trail in Fort Langley. Come and join us on Saturday mornings at 9:30, and after our walk we can stop for a coffee in Fort Langley. It's always enjoyable, and doesn't cost you anything but a little of your time! If you'd like to join us, contact me at 604-970-9759, or e-mail me at info@abtraining.net for directions.

The Importance of Breakfast

The often overlooked but most important meal of the day is breakfast.
Research shows that people who eat breakfast tend to be thinner than people who skip breakfast. If you miss breakfast, you will have a harder time concentrating, & memorizing information. This is because, after not eating all night, your blood sugar is at its lowest level , and blood sugar is what fuels your brain & muscles. A good breakfast should include at least three of the four food groups: protein, carbohydrates & fats. Good sources of these foods are milk, cheese, yogurt, eggs, nuts, and peanut butter, fruit, and whole grains.
If you're one of those people who can't eat first thing in the morning, then take something with you that you can eat after you get to work. Nuts & seeds, yogurt, cheese, fruit, or make a fruit smoothy that you can take with you and drink while you drive to work.
If you want to eat at home before you go to work, here are a few quick breakfast choices:
-A bowl of cereal with milk & sliced banana
-Whole wheat toast with peanut butter
-Yogurt with raw oatmeal, fruit, and chopped walnuts, and almonds
-Scrambled egg sandwich
