Are You Stressed Out? With the Holiday Season comes extra stress....and it seems a little worse this year with the addition of all the bad news on the economy.
One thing you can do to help alleviate some stress from the news, is to put yourself on a news diet. Do not watch, listen, or read the news first thing in the morning or the last thing at night. Some experts even suggest that you forego the news all together! Bad news only makes you feel more stressed.
Maintaining a good outlook can also be beneficial to your health.
40% of all serious stress is caused by money worries. To relieve this kind of stress, take control of your money by creating a budget, paying off credit cards, & trying to save some extra money every month.
Get some exercise - physical activity helps reduce stress by releasing feel good hormones called endorphins in to the areas of your brain that control mood. So, try a 30 minute brisk walk every day, and it will boost your spirits.
If you are in good physical condition, eat a healthy diet, and get enough sleep, you can handle stress much better.
And lastly, make time to do the things you truly love, and be grateful for the good things in your life now....not something you would like to have or be in the future. |
